What I'm Fighting For
Hornsby Council has decided in this term of Council to pursue projects that are not the responsibility of local government. This included the construction of a skybridge over Hornsby Park and the multiple ovals being developed at Westleigh Park. Both these projects will increase Council’s spending on infrastructure to record levels. This excessive spending has led to Council increasing rates by 31%.
What I Want to Change
If elected, my purpose in Hornsby Council will be to direct Council spending further towards maintenance projects rather than new capital spending. I want Hornsby Council to focus on the facilities that we currently have rather than pursuing massive projects that are the responsibility of state governments.
